Adam Shelton

Adam Shelton is an associate at Gearing, Rackner & McGrath, LLP and is licensed to practice law in the state of Oregon.

Adam grew up in Greenfield Ohio. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from University of Oregon School of Law and his Bachelor of Science in Political Science and History at Ohio University.  He has been practicing family law since 2011.

Adam practices all areas of family law and specializes in complex financial dissolutions and contested custody matters. He also regularly offers pro bono services to minor children who need independent representation.

Adam views the attorney-client relationship as a team effort, first and foremost. His practice style emphasizes zealous advocacy, preparedness and creative solutions to each unique set of client circumstances.

Adam serves as a member of the Multnomah County, Clackamas County and Washington County Bar Associations; the Oregon State Bar – Family Law Section, the Oregon Academy of Family Law Practitioners and the Oregon Judicial Department Family Law Advisory Committee.

When Adam isn’t in the office or a courtroom, he spends his free time grappling at a local Brazilian jiu jitsu gym, playing soccer and basketball, watching matinee Sunday movies, enjoying music and exploring the great outdoors through snowboarding, mountain biking, or hiking. He also volunteers for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
