Sarah was born in Eugene, Oregon. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Willamette University College of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Oregon. She has been practicing family law since 2010.
Sarah practices all areas of family law, with special emphasis on complex financial and high asset divorces, and challenging custody and parenting time cases. She regularly offers pro bono services to minor children who need independent representation in high conflict custody and parenting time cases. She also mentors local high school students through the Multnomah County Bar Association’s Imprint Program.
Sarah is inspired by challenge and loves to learn. She enjoys the variety of legal issues and relationships in family law. Sarah’s colleagues at Gearing, Rackner & McGrath, LLP inspire continual professional growth. Sarah notes that each attorney is an excellent advocate with a unique practice style. The collegial environment and ongoing exchange of ideas is ideal for professional development and achieving great results for the firm’s clients.
In her personal time, Sarah enjoys outdoor athletics. Soccer is her favorite sport to play and watch. On the field, Sarah strives to make perfect passes and to create scoring opportunities. From elementary school through college, she practiced soccer nearly every day. The endurance, anticipation, and creativity required by the sport prepared her for the practice of law, where she constantly works to achieve her clients’ goals.
Sarah serves as a member of the Multnomah County, Clackamas County, and Washington County Bar Associations; the Oregon Academy of Family Law Practitioners; and the Oregon State Bar – Family Law Section.
